Overnight Heatless Waves

Hello!

I thought I'd share one of my favourite hair styles and some top tips on the best way to do it! I wear this most of the time, because I have dead straight hair and I don't like to use heat on it too much.

I start by washing my hair, with the Wash and Go 2 in 1 Shampoo and Conditioner. The reason I don't use separate shampoo and conditioner is because I find it makes my hair become greasy much quicker. I then wrap my hair up with a old t-shirt instead of a towel and it makes the hair less frizzy.
Once I've got all the excess water off I leave my hair roughly 45 minutes to an hour

TOP TIP- do not plait your hair straight away! especially if you have thick hair like me. It will not be dry before the morning and you will have horrible half wet waves. Always leave it to naturally dry for a while.

Once I think it's dry enough I will take a paddle hairbrush and just make sure there is no knots. Then put it in a middle parting and tie one side up.
Depending on how big you want the waves, pick how much hair you want in your individual plaits. Then take the hair and do a normal plait from the top to as far down as you can go.

TOP TIP- If you don't have enough hairbands you can use elastic bands. Personally I recommend using them anyway, as you can plait the hair all the way to the bottom better and there is less of a gap of waves when you take it out.

Plait like this all the way around your head, making sure you get roughly the same amount of hair all the way round. I then put in a bit of sea salt spray so that in the morning it looks more 'beachy'.

TOP TIP- Spray each plait with a bit of hairspray. Make sure it's not a full hold one as I tend to find they make your hair feel kind of plastic - like and horrible. Putting hairspray on them makes them stay in longer the next way, as well as making the waves come out a lot better.

Then just sleep! You can put them up into a bun if you want to, but if not just go to sleep like that. When you wake up take the plaits out one by one. And volá, you have wavy/crimped hair!

TOP TIP- I like to them brush my hair out, it makes it look more natural, and just ensures you have no knots. I then put in a bit more sea salt spray and hairspray to perfect the look at you're done!

You can do half up half down, or clip the front bits. Whatever you wish, but I like to just leave it down. It's so simple to do, and looks so nice.

Thank you for reading, I hope you enoyed and tell me if you do this hairstyle.

Love,

Elise xo

What's In My School Bag 2016

Hello!

Today I thought I'd share what I had in my school bag, I love reading/watching these because they always give me little ideas of what I should perhaps have as well!

My bag is just a big black handbag from Primark, it's horrible, I thought I was cool getting it because handbags as school bags was all the rage. However now I have to wait until it breaks to get a new one, I just want a black backpack.

Obviously I have all of my school books, and textbooks, and random booklets that I am meant to take to every lesson but always forget. I also have my planner, which is basically empty as I either do my homework at lunch or just forget to write it down. It does have my lessons on the back though, which is extremely useful because I'm very forgetful.

I have one notepad, which is used for just general note taking, although I'm meant to do it in my rough book, I lost it. The notepad is by Gabriella Lindley (velvetgh0st), the 'Sparkle Like A Diamond' one, I also have the other one but this is used for things I need to keep/neat. I love these notepads, they are so inexpensive, the design is gorgeous they just look so good in your bag, and they are so practical!

I don't have a pencil case. Hands down the start of this school year I had everything. Now I have one pen and one pencil (not mine), half of a ruler because it snapped and one highlighter. The only thing I do have is a calculator and I'd cry if I lost that. I did have a reading book in here, but I don't really read in lessons so I put the book in my locker and just take it out on Mondays when we have reading at form time.

In the bottom of my bag, I have a Toffee Crisp, not a clue why it's there but. I also have a pen which doesn't work. And some Tipex that has nothing in it, I just haven't thrown it away yet. I also have some random little bits of paper which have no use. A little compact mirror in the case I ever need one. My Miss Sport lipstick in 500 Oh Sweet Mocha. My uniform card and a leave of absence from ages ago.

I also have my Zoella Beauty Lace Collar bag. I was originally going to put my makeup in there but I never touch it up during the day so I decided to make myself a little 'emergency bag which isn't really for emergencies'. It contains all the things that one day either myself or one of my friends may need. This has cotton buds, incase mascara or eyeliner smudges. A lipbalm, I do have one in my blazer pocket, but this one is never opened just incase someone else needs one or I lose mine. A pen, incase I ever need to quickly write something down (I take this with me at weekends and stuff). Tweezers incase I find any little stray hairs on my eyebrows. Soap and Glory mini hand cream, I don't really get dry hands but some of my friends do and this product is meant to be amazing. A little deodorant, always important. Sanitary towels, just in case it decides it wants to annoy me or someone else and start early. A little Hersheys Cookies and Cream bar, simply because sometimes (mostly when I'm on my period) I will suddenly crave chocolate and be moody until I get some, so incase I or anyone else really needs chocolate. And some loose change, incase I ever get stuck anywhere, or really want to buy something, or if someone doesn't have enough money for the train/bus. I should also put a pair of tights in there because I always ladder mine (credit to Eve Bennett for the idea)

I hope you enoyed what's in my bag always and maybe it gave you some ideas about the little things you may want to take with you. If you have anything else I could take, just let me know!

Lots of love,

Elise xo

Tanya Burr Perfect Brows Review | 2016

Hello!
Today i am going to be doing a review of Tanya Burr's Perfect Brows Kit. Before we start i would just like to say that everything said in this post is my opinion and has not been said to offend you or Tanya herself. So, let's get on with it!

I use the shade Chestnut or Hot Cocoa because these two are a similar shade to my natural eyebrows and so i use these. I don't tend to do too much to my eyebrows because knowing me i'll look hidious either way haha.

But anyway back to the review of this kit, the brush is angled so it is 100% easier to use because it is fitted to help shape and add an arch to your brows. This helps so much when filling in your brows because it helps make them look like they have a natural shape even when they have been shaped and filled in.

Also in this kit, there are some tweezers, these and the brush are designed in such a cute way, i love the appearance of the whole palette to be honest. Just like any standard tweezers, these come in handy for anything but in terms of brows these have really good grip and they just look so cute in hot pink and the additional 'Tanya Burr' writing.

Lastly, the palette includes a mirror which i love because it comes in so handy, especially when travelling. This makes it so much more easier because when going away i will not need to take a mirror separately which sounds stupid but trust me its so handy!

Overall, i love this palette so much because it includes everything i need to do my eyebrows. The shades are all different shades so that they can suit anyone. Also, i love the design of the palette as it's so cute and pretty! I would definitely recommend this kit because it is a reasonable price {£6.99} and good quality!

I hope you have enjoyed reading this and has helped you out if you were considering purchasing this product from Tanya's range. If you would like to see more reviews then let us know via Twitter or comment down below.

Have a lovely day,
Love
Tia x

Everyday Makeup Routine CRUELTY FREE

Hello!

Today I thought I'd share my everyday makeup routine! I use this whenever I feel like wearing makeup, so it's not really everyday but you get the jist.

Also! This whole makeup routine is cruelty free! After research online and using the website 'Peta' which allows you to search brands, I got these products! At the end I will explain a little about cruelty free makeup, not enough people take it seriously, and also link you to more articles that explain. If any of the brands in here actually do test on animals please let me know, I have looked on all of their websites but after the Revlon scandal they are all a bit iffy.

I currently do not use a primer. Yes I know, probably a really bad decision. However I haven't found one yet. If anyone can link me to any cruelty free primers I would be grateful.
For foundation I did use the Rimmel Match Perfection, as I believed the brand was cruelty free. However, part of their animal policy in fact states that some countries do require animal testing on their products. So until I find a new foundation I like I am using an MUA matte one. I hardly ever wear foundation so not having an 'amazing' one does not bother me.
For concealer I use the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection, which is cruelty free. I apply this to all my blemishes and in a triangle under my eye, and blend it simply using my finger (obviously I wash my hands before)
I set this in place with the MUA powder (MUA in my knowledge is cruelty free) which I find does make you look a little cakey if you apply too much. However it sets my face in place just fine. I use a Makeup Revolution fluffy brush to put this on!

For my blush I use the Makeup Revolution Golden Sugar pallette. Makeup Revolution is cruelty free, cheap and just of really good quality so it's a winner all round for me. Now they don't have names, so I just use the second one on the top row on the apples of my checks. I apply this with the Real Techniques Blusher Brush (cruelty free of course)
For my contour I use a Revolution contour brush, and last shade on the bottom row of that palette. This goes on the hollows on my cheekbones, on my jawline and on my forehead, basically where your face is naturally darker (watch some yotuber tutorials)
Once again for highlight on my cheekbones I use the second shade on the bottom with the contour brush. Once I've done my eyebrows I will also use the first shade of the top on my eyebrow bone and down the bridge of my nose (the cupids bow as well if I remember)

For my eyelashes I use the W7 Lashtastic False Liquid Lashes (I believe this is cruelty free, it took me a long time to find the brand online however the articles said it was). This has a very thick wand and is really good for adding more volume into the lashes, it also makes them super black!
I'm not a keen eye shadow wearer but for anyone that is Makeup Revolution do such lovely, pigmented eye show palletes which are so inexpensive and such high quality.
For my eyebrows I use the Essence eyebrow powder, cruelty free. I don't know why I keep writing cruelty free after every product that's the idea of the post, I think it's because I want to reiterate the fact that they all are. With the Real Techniques Angled Brush. There are two shades, dark and light, but depending on how I feel I like to switch it up daily. Then to blend and brush it all into place I use an old, clean mascara brush, it works wonders.

For my lips I first apply some Palmers Cocoa Butter Lipbalm in order to give my lips a bit of moisture. I then finish with the Colourpop Lippie Stix in Oh Snap Matte. It's such a lovely kind of brown toned pink, which is just so wearable. It's very creamy and doesn't make your lips feel dry like some mattes do.

Now I know not a lot of people really think about whether their makeup/products are cruelty free. They think companies test on rats or mice and their lives are worthless. However that's not the reality. Thousands of animals die every year, and if they survive they are often left in a horrible condition. Mac is one of the well known animal testers and if you read some of the stories (which I recommend, some are gruesome but they are eye opening) you will see how bad it is. Look at your pets, or just have some basic humanity and think about if you covering up a spot or putting some blue on your eyelid is worth the loss of their life.
For more information go to www.peta.org they allow you to see cruelty free brands and those that do test on animals or just search for articles about cruelty free makeup, also there is a lot of youtubers that talk about it. Kristen Leanne is one of my favourites, her videos are so informative and just amazing!

I hope you enoyed and really think about what I've said. It doesn't take long to change what you use, and sometimes it's cheaper, it's also for the better!

Love,

Elise xo

Trying Peanut Butter Candy

Hello!

Now for Christmas my parents got me a bag of peanut butter related candy, as they know how much I love it. So I thought I'd try it and right my first reactions out here!

M&Ms-

You can really taste the peanut butter in them, I actually really like them! I think if you eat too many at once they would be really sickly, as I only had one and that was a little sickly.

Cookie Dough Bites-

I really didn't like these. The inside was okay, I couldn't really taste much because the horrible taste of the chocolate on the outside overwhelmed it. The chocolate just tasted cheap, not of high quality, and it ruined the rest of the flavour for me.

Reese's Cups-

I've already had these before, and they are basically my favourite thing in the world. If I could only eat on more sweet thing for the rest of my life it would be these (or lindors).

Reese's Sticks-

These were good. Kind of just like a peanut butter chunky kit kat but with less chocolate on the outside. The peanut butter wasn't too overwhelming which was good, and the wafer inside was quite nice.

That was it! She also got me other non - peanut butter related things such as little Hersheys cookies and cream {for the record I like them, but I don't see the massive hype, still doesn't beat dairy milk} I hope you enjoyed, go find yourself some if you like peanut butter and see what the taste like. I'm sure they do candy based around other flavours too!

Lots of love,

Elise xo

Happy New Year!

Hello!

Sorry for not posting in so long but i've been designing and my new individual blog and it has been christmas break from school so i have been spending a lot of time with my family. Anyhow! I can't believe that today is the 1st January 2016. What! 2015 wasn't exactly the best of years but today is the first page of a new 365 paged book so i want to make each page last and be fulfilled.

I thought i would give you some tips on how to stay motivated, as i know that i always need to be motivated and pushed as otherwise i most likely wouldn't be doing half the things i am doing today. So, i'm going to give you some of my tips which i believe you should do more of this year as it's a chance to try new things and come out of your comfort zone.

  1. Don't let other people down! Towards the end of last year i was put down quite a lot by my supposedly 'friends' and unfortunately i did let it get to me! Don't let that happen! If they laugh at something that your doing take it as a compliment because really inside they are probably jealous of your success in the activity in which you are participating in.
  2. Be motivated. In order to keep me going i go by some quotes. I know your probably thinking 'oh, here we go, everyone says to go by quotes it doesn't work because it's cheesy' that's fine, you don't have to be motivated this way, it's just that i like to! My favourite quote is 'she believed she could so she did' whenever i feel i am not good enough or i am not capable of doing something i always try to keep motivated by reading a positive quote and it questions yourself, for me this works but it may not for you, but thats fine!
  3. Do what makes YOU happy. Don't revolve your life around other people and try to keep other people happy. If you want to do something that your friend/s might not want to, so what? If it is going to make you happy and have a good time then go for it!
  4. BE YOU. Don't change yourself to fit in with other people. If you want to wear bright orange eyeshadow then go for it and wear the bright orange eyeshadow. Don't change for someone else because your worried about what they will think of your normal self, the most someone would ask for is your normal and crazy self.
That's it for today's blogpost i hope you found this post quite helpful and useful for the new year? If it didn't then I'm sorry for rambling.

Happy New Year, i hope your 2016 is great!

Tia x
