When I Grow Up

When I was little I was always asked when I turned into a big girl what did I want to be.

Now obviously princess was my first answer, the idea of prancing around in a magical fairy dress all day, eating chocolate whenever I wanted seemed like heaven to me.

Then it changed and I want to be an ice cream lady. I thought it would be fun to see the happiness on the kids faces when they got an ice cream. Not going to lie I also thought you got free ice cream and that seemed like a massive bonus to me.

It changed to a builder, I wanted to make massive buildings for people to work in and make myself a lovely house. However I was told that girls couldn't be builders, it was a man's job. So I stopped dreaming.

Teaching was my next career choice, and I stuck with that for about five years. I wanted to help educate people, create the next Einstein or Isaac Newton. I wanted to be able to teach people key things they would use for the rest of their life.

Then when I got older I wanted to be a lawyer. It seemed like a stable job. Working in an office. Decent pay. A nice structured life style that the majority of people wish for. Everyone told me that was a great idea, I'm a smart enough girl I could do it. Oh it would be great money. I'd live a happy and successful life. By that time I didn't want to be a lawyer anymore, the thought of it bored me. Trying to tell my family that was a different story.

So I told everyone that's what I wanted to be. I was stuck on the idea of being a lawyer.

I don't want to be a lawyer.

When I told everyone about my career choice, the amount of comments I got about it was unbelievable. Wow you really want to do that. Why can't you just do more normal job. You've got the opportunity to make loads of money just go for it.

I want to be a criminologist or a forensic scientist. I want to look into the minds of those who do the most terrible things and find out the reason for why they did it. Or look at dead bodies to find out how that person died.

Yeah it may sound a weird enough career choice. Death. Seems pretty dark huh? However it's something that interests me. I've always been into crime shows. It baffles me how people do what they do.

I've abandoned the idea of being a princess (although I'm still down for it) a ice cream lady, a builder, a teacher and a lawyer. Either because I grew out of it, was told I want capable or I was pressured into being it.

Choose something you want to do with your life. At the end of the day it's you who has to do the job everyday, no one else. So be what you want to be. A waitress, a cleaner, a pilot, an engineer, a stripper, a shelf stacker at Tesco. If you want something, go for it. Regardless of your gender. Regardless of your family or friends.

When I grow up I want to be something I want to be, not what everyone else wants me to be.

Cruelty Free Spring Makeup

Hello!

Seeing as we are in spring I thought I'd share with you the everyday makeup I have been wearing, all cruelty free of course.

My skin is starting to clear up a bit, and seeing as it is spring I don't feel the need for a full coverage foundation. So I have just been mixing a bit of my MUA foundation with some moisturiser and using it as a BB cream, it's so simple and effective and still gives you a little coverage. Sometimes I use my Real Techniques Buffer Brush and sometimes I just use my fingers, all depends on how I feel.

Under my eyes I put some Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer which I find brightens my under eye and covers my bags so well. On my blemishes I put the Miss Sporty Perfect Stay concealer which covers the red areas really well. I use a damp Real Techniques Beauty Blender the majority of the time of my fingers I don't really care.

For my eyebrows I use the W7 Brow Parlour Grooming Set which is amazing, it comes with a little brush to apply the eyebrow powder (there are two shades, I use the darkest one) Then I put the wax on top with my finger and comb through them with the other little brush you get, I cannot remember what it's called!

The Collection Contour Kit is my personal favourite contour. I apply it to the hollows of my cheekbones with a flat brush and then blend it out with my Real Techniques Angled Brush. I also put some on the outer section of my forehead, down the sides of my nose to make it look smaller and on my jawline.

For blusher I use the W7 The Cheeky Trio, which is a really nice pink shade, using my Real Techniques Blusher Brush to pop it on. Then on my cheekbones with the Revolution Angled Brush goes the highlighter you get with it, I also put it down the bridge of my nose and on my cupids bow.

For my eyes I don't wear eyeshadow so I'm really sorry I can't help you out with that, search spring eye makeup looks online and I'm sure you will find some lovely ones. However I do use the W7 Lashtastic False Liquid Lashes on my eyelashes to make them look a little thicker.

My lips vary day to day, however I have been wearing the NYX Butter Gloss in Cannes, it's a beautiful sort of brown undertoned pink. I'm not the best at describing colours so I recommend you search it, but it is absolutely beautiful (UK people you can get it from Boots or Feel Unique) It may not seem like s spring colour but it's absolutely gorgeous and can be built up/you could wear different colours over the top.

There we are, my go to spring makeup look. It's perfect for everyday, and you could work it up for the evening as well if you want too.

Vegetarian/Vegan Meals

Hello!
Right so I turned vegetarian just over a month ago, I would right a post about my choices but I think I would get overly passionate. So at the end I will link so websites which explain why becoming a vegetarian/vegan is an amazing thing.
However I thought I'd share with you some simple meal ideas, everyone says that being a vegetarian/vegan is hard, but if you plan meals and ingredients, they are generally found at your local supermarket.
This is a recommendation from a girl I know on twitter (@phoebedianax) and it is Granose meat-free burger mix. Although I personally haven't yet tried it, she says they taste exactly like 'real' burgers.
For all you veggies/vegans, along with those who are trying to cut down on meat or just want something different to try. Tesco do AMAZING vegan burgers, you get four in a packet and they are massive. If you eat one in a roll it will probably fill you up because they are so big, and they cost like £1.50 tesco range in the freezer section.
As a snack, did you know that BBQ pringles are suitable for vegans as well, and for breakfast you can have coco-pops.
I personally aren't a masisve fan of all quorn, I quite like their sausages. You can have sausage, mash and vegetable gravy, literally exactly the same as before or even have a sausage sandwich. I say don't have their burgers or ham because they taste horrible, but the chicken they do tastes really nice in a sandwich.
If you go into tesco they do some lovely ready meals, I know ready meals aren't good for you but if you are in a rush they are perfect. I enjoy their vegetarian lasagnes and I even picked up a vegetarian tikka curry and pilau rice for £2, and two nann breads for 75p.
Jacket potatoes are my personal favourite meal, I could eat them every day and not get sick of them. Extremely easy to cook, and on the whole very cheap too.
The Free-From range is very good, they have some lovely dairy free products, like chocolate, I even found hummus crisps the other day which tasted like heaven, it was like 70p for a big bag.
Honestly if you take half an hour out of your day to research some meals and what you need you will find it so easy, and eventually it will just come naturally too you to pick those kinds of foods up.
You only eat meat because that's how you were brought up, the real things that happen in the meat and dairy industry are hidden away because the amount of money it makes is unbelievable.
I know not everyone can become vegetarian/vegan, for medical problems or money problems. However, everyone can try to cut down and a little change is better than none at all.

What I Got For My Birthday 2016

Hello!
Sorry for not posting in forever, I've had so much stuff to do, it's just been overwhelming. However it was my birthday on the 22nd of this month, so I figured I'd show you what I got. This is purely to just give you some ideas about what you could get your friends, and I like to read these too learn more about people. I'm not trying to brag or boost in anyway shape or form!
From my parents I got the book All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven, honestly im about 50 pages in and I'm enjoying it so much, I'm struggling to put it down! I also got some I Love... body stuff, which smell amazing. Along with a Real Techniques Beauty Blender which I'm really loving, and some money. I also got a gorgeous pair of black, chelsea - like boots from H&M and I'm so so in love, honestly they have a heel on and I can't walk in heels so I was worried that they would be no good. But I can actually walk in them pretty well, which is such a relief as they are so amazing, and only £25, which for what they are, is a great value for money.
From everyone else in the family I just got money, as I'm saving up for a new laptop (however my auntie may actually be giving me hers now so I'm kind of just saving up for nothing at the moment). One of my auntie's is actually paying for me to have my nose pierced at the start of the holiday which should be, um, fun. I wanted a septum but my parents wouldn't let me which is a bit of a bummer.
Not all the money went into the savings pot though, I also did a bit of a superdrug haul, I will show you what I got in another post!
The cards I got from my friends were amazing, one of them made me a card with a topless Channing Tatum and Zac Efron, but she made tops and stuck them on with bluetack so it was a little stiptease. I cried with laughter. They all bought me bars of galaxy, cookie crumble and caramel. One got me some malteasers however we played a game with them so they all went very fast. My friend who lives next to fields of sheep bought me a chocolate lamb, as she knows how much I love them everytime I go round, as well as some strawberry and cream lindors (lush). Another bought me these two very nice cushions which all of my family really love, as I keep finding them disappearing from my room. One friend made me a card with instructions of which order I had to open my presents, and she related them all back to memories we had had together. My bestfriend gave me some money, and a really funny card. She also made me this lovely cake which I would literally pay for her to make me one again, it was amazing!
And that was it! I had an amazing birthday, having it at school puts a bit of a downer on it, and the fact my whole family was ill so my sister puked when buying my boots. Other than that I had a fabulous day and all of my friends made it amazing!
Thank you for reading, see you soon!
Lots of love,
Elise xo

Tia's Morning Routine | March 16

Helloooo!
Before i start this post i would like to apologise to you & Elise for not posting in what feels like years and years ago. I have been struggling to balance coursework, my individual blog as well as this blog and my football. However, i have purchased a new planner and have got a lot of blog posts planned for this blog and i really hope you enjoy my future posts which i have thought of! So now that is cleared up, i thought as it is March now, which seems crazy!, i should do a morning routine for you lot as i know quite a lot of you like reading routines! So, i am going to stop rambling and just get on with it!

So, as this is my morning routine at a weekend, i would usually wake up around 9am and firstly check all my social media {linked down below} on my phone. So, i would just grab my phone and scroll through twitter and message most of my gc's to say good morning and see what they are all upto. Once i have scrolled though twitter and instagram, i will go downstairs and get myself some toast. I usually toast brown granary bread and spread butter and strawberry jam on them. Yum! I will then either make a hot chocolate if i can be bothered or just grab a bottle of water and head back upstairs. While i am eating my breakfast i would watch any youtube videos i haven't seen yet and watch some episodes of Goldbergs as i love this programme at the moment. Once i have finished breakfast i will move on to getting ready for the day.

First i will go into the bathroom and cleanse my face using the Simple Facial Wash and apply a bit of Garnier Rose Moisturiser as well as brushing my teeth. Next, i'll just go back into my room and browse through my wardrobe and try and decide what to wear. Today i decided to wear my black denim skirt from Topshop, a plain white long sleeved top from Select, a grey thick cardigan from Primark, Black tights & my ankle cut Doc Martens.

Once, i have chosen my outfit for the day i will lay it out on my bed and get in the shower. Recently i have been using my Sugar Crush big sized shower gel, this smells amazing and really moisturises my skin! Once i have finished in the shower, i will go back into my room and get changed. Then i will brush my hair and then dry it using my Nicky Clarke Frizz-Control Hairdryer. Once dry, i will put it up so it is out of my face and start doing a light coverage of make-up that isn't so full on. A everyday make-up routine is on it's way! Every day, i straighten my hair using the Daisy Print Corioliss Straighteners C1.

I think this concludes my morning routine, i have probably forgotten a few things, knowing me hah, but i hope you have enjoyed this post! Also, i think i might start doing a preview picture header for each post like i have done this one. Tweet me if you think i should/should'nt.

February Favourites

Hello!
Welcome back, March already! This year is going so fast it's unbelievable. Anyway, here are my favourite things from the month of February.
TV and Film
I've watched the whole of the first series of Limitless and it was amazing, I cannot wait for the next series (if there is one!) because it was so addictive. I also rewatched The Lovely Bones, and I can't explain how brilliant the film is, I recommend it entirely, however there is some mature themes and it is extremely emotional. Big Hero 6 is also a great film, I cried so much literally, it is one of the best animated films I have ever seen.
Makeup and Skincare
There was nothing, at all. I didn't try anything new, just my old products I've mentioned before. However I will be getting more in March, so just wait a little while.
Music
I have been obsessed with Halsey this month, someone I follow on twitter met her, and I thought oh I might listen to some of her songs. Since then her album Badlands has been on repeat, Colours is my favourite song on the album. I also have been listening to the song One Call Away by Charlie Puth a lot!
Youtube
Once again I've stuck to my old regulars, and haven't really watched anyone new. I am in love with Marcus right now, especially his second channel, the videos are so funny. Oh and I've been into watching a lot of social experiments, it's intresting to see people's reactions in certain circumstances.
I hope you enjoyed, and I will see you soon,
Lots of love,
Elise xo

Peaches and Co.

Hello!

A few weeks ago I found a lovely little online shop called Peaches and Co. The lovely owner Danielle agreed to send me some products so I could review them. How glad I am she did!

I'm going to apologise in advance for my terrible picture taking, it really isn't one of my talents.

I received these two mirrors, 'You're a Gem' and 'You Look Lovely'. They are both so amazingly cute, honestly when I saw them I fell in love with just how beautiful, and positive they are. It's lovely to always have a little something in your bag which makes you smile, and these defiently do! Although they are a tiny bit bigger thay regular pocket mirrors, they are the perfect size. Personally, I like them this size, it makes it so much easier to apply makeup etc. They both feel very sturdy and the quality of the mirror is amazing. I am hands down keeping them in the little plastic bags because if I ruined one (I have really bad luck) I think I would cry.

Danielle also send me these two lovely prints, 'Hello Sweetpea' and 'Cheer up Buttercup'. They are both so cute, and make me smile everytime I look at them. I love the font which the words are typed with, and just the whole feel of the print.
I am planning on putting these on my wall, and also thinking about doing a positivity post, these will defiently be included!

I also loved the fact you got some really cute little stickers, I'm honestly just a big child I love stickers.

All of the products are super affordable, and they are all gorgeous. She also designs phone cases aswell which are beautiful. Free delivery in the UK, what a bonus!

If you go to the website http://www.peachesandco.co.uk/ (I apologise for no hyperlink it will not let me do it for some reason) Danielle explains why she created the shop, and you can have a look at all of the products avaliable to buy. I also believe she is currently designing new things, which is extremely exciting.

You can follow the shop on twitter @peachesandco or instagram @peachesandcoshop for updates, announcements and giveaways!

Lots of love,

Elise xo

January Favourites

Hello!
I urm kind of forgot to do a favourites 2015, but let's forget about it and just skip straight onto the month that's just gone.
TV and Film-
You know I don't watch many new TV shows, just the normal Hawaii-5O and Bones. Ex on the Beach is back, and I absolutely love that! and Celeb Big Brother has been amazing this year. The Green Mile is a pretty old film I watched for the first time the other day, and I absolutely love it! Tom Hanks is amazing, oh and also Forest Gump, I've watched that loads this month.
Makeup and Skincare-
The Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer has been a product I've loved this month. I know everyone raves about it, but personally I just find it applies amazing, and really brightens under my eyes. Although it's not an 'ache covering' concealer (I don't think) for under eyes it's amazing. I have also been loving the Makeup Revolution Stippling Brush, and the Makeup Revolution Trio Bronzer, Blush and Highlighter. I know you're meant to apply contour with a contouring brush, however I watched someone on youtube the other day talk about how they use their stippling brush to apply it, and after trying it I realised how amazing it was. The Nivea Cleanser and Toner and the Nivea Moisturiser have been amazing in clearing my skin, they are such nice, soft products.
Music-
Blue Neighbourhood. That's all I have to say I could go on and on and I'm probably going to mention it in every favourites but it's amazing okay end of story. I've also been very old school and listening to a lot of 00s songs, and songs that I've 'grew up' with. Me and Tenessee and Red are both old songs that been amazing listening to!
Youtube and Blogs-
I have loved Kristen Leanne this month, she does amazing cruelty free videos they are so helpful. Jack Howard is another love of mine, all of his videos are amazing and I tell everyone to watch his last two videos and think about what he has said.
Random Stuff-
The Zoella Beauty Lace Collar bag has been amazing this month, my little emergency bag and it's also an amazing travel makeup bag. The Nivea 48 Hour Deodorant has been great, I love the smell and it lasts all day. And the Style Expertise Sea Salt spray is brilliant, it's one of my all time favourite hair products and I could get through bottles and bottles of it.
I hope you enjoyed, tell me what your favourites are!
Lots of love,

Overnight Heatless Waves

Hello!

I thought I'd share one of my favourite hair styles and some top tips on the best way to do it! I wear this most of the time, because I have dead straight hair and I don't like to use heat on it too much.

I start by washing my hair, with the Wash and Go 2 in 1 Shampoo and Conditioner. The reason I don't use separate shampoo and conditioner is because I find it makes my hair become greasy much quicker. I then wrap my hair up with a old t-shirt instead of a towel and it makes the hair less frizzy.
Once I've got all the excess water off I leave my hair roughly 45 minutes to an hour

TOP TIP- do not plait your hair straight away! especially if you have thick hair like me. It will not be dry before the morning and you will have horrible half wet waves. Always leave it to naturally dry for a while.

Once I think it's dry enough I will take a paddle hairbrush and just make sure there is no knots. Then put it in a middle parting and tie one side up.
Depending on how big you want the waves, pick how much hair you want in your individual plaits. Then take the hair and do a normal plait from the top to as far down as you can go.

TOP TIP- If you don't have enough hairbands you can use elastic bands. Personally I recommend using them anyway, as you can plait the hair all the way to the bottom better and there is less of a gap of waves when you take it out.

Plait like this all the way around your head, making sure you get roughly the same amount of hair all the way round. I then put in a bit of sea salt spray so that in the morning it looks more 'beachy'.

TOP TIP- Spray each plait with a bit of hairspray. Make sure it's not a full hold one as I tend to find they make your hair feel kind of plastic - like and horrible. Putting hairspray on them makes them stay in longer the next way, as well as making the waves come out a lot better.

Then just sleep! You can put them up into a bun if you want to, but if not just go to sleep like that. When you wake up take the plaits out one by one. And volá, you have wavy/crimped hair!

TOP TIP- I like to them brush my hair out, it makes it look more natural, and just ensures you have no knots. I then put in a bit more sea salt spray and hairspray to perfect the look at you're done!

You can do half up half down, or clip the front bits. Whatever you wish, but I like to just leave it down. It's so simple to do, and looks so nice.

Thank you for reading, I hope you enoyed and tell me if you do this hairstyle.

Love,

Elise xo

What's In My School Bag 2016

Hello!

Today I thought I'd share what I had in my school bag, I love reading/watching these because they always give me little ideas of what I should perhaps have as well!

My bag is just a big black handbag from Primark, it's horrible, I thought I was cool getting it because handbags as school bags was all the rage. However now I have to wait until it breaks to get a new one, I just want a black backpack.

Obviously I have all of my school books, and textbooks, and random booklets that I am meant to take to every lesson but always forget. I also have my planner, which is basically empty as I either do my homework at lunch or just forget to write it down. It does have my lessons on the back though, which is extremely useful because I'm very forgetful.

I have one notepad, which is used for just general note taking, although I'm meant to do it in my rough book, I lost it. The notepad is by Gabriella Lindley (velvetgh0st), the 'Sparkle Like A Diamond' one, I also have the other one but this is used for things I need to keep/neat. I love these notepads, they are so inexpensive, the design is gorgeous they just look so good in your bag, and they are so practical!

I don't have a pencil case. Hands down the start of this school year I had everything. Now I have one pen and one pencil (not mine), half of a ruler because it snapped and one highlighter. The only thing I do have is a calculator and I'd cry if I lost that. I did have a reading book in here, but I don't really read in lessons so I put the book in my locker and just take it out on Mondays when we have reading at form time.

In the bottom of my bag, I have a Toffee Crisp, not a clue why it's there but. I also have a pen which doesn't work. And some Tipex that has nothing in it, I just haven't thrown it away yet. I also have some random little bits of paper which have no use. A little compact mirror in the case I ever need one. My Miss Sport lipstick in 500 Oh Sweet Mocha. My uniform card and a leave of absence from ages ago.

I also have my Zoella Beauty Lace Collar bag. I was originally going to put my makeup in there but I never touch it up during the day so I decided to make myself a little 'emergency bag which isn't really for emergencies'. It contains all the things that one day either myself or one of my friends may need. This has cotton buds, incase mascara or eyeliner smudges. A lipbalm, I do have one in my blazer pocket, but this one is never opened just incase someone else needs one or I lose mine. A pen, incase I ever need to quickly write something down (I take this with me at weekends and stuff). Tweezers incase I find any little stray hairs on my eyebrows. Soap and Glory mini hand cream, I don't really get dry hands but some of my friends do and this product is meant to be amazing. A little deodorant, always important. Sanitary towels, just in case it decides it wants to annoy me or someone else and start early. A little Hersheys Cookies and Cream bar, simply because sometimes (mostly when I'm on my period) I will suddenly crave chocolate and be moody until I get some, so incase I or anyone else really needs chocolate. And some loose change, incase I ever get stuck anywhere, or really want to buy something, or if someone doesn't have enough money for the train/bus. I should also put a pair of tights in there because I always ladder mine (credit to Eve Bennett for the idea)

I hope you enoyed what's in my bag always and maybe it gave you some ideas about the little things you may want to take with you. If you have anything else I could take, just let me know!

Lots of love,

Elise xo

Tanya Burr Perfect Brows Review | 2016

Hello!
Today i am going to be doing a review of Tanya Burr's Perfect Brows Kit. Before we start i would just like to say that everything said in this post is my opinion and has not been said to offend you or Tanya herself. So, let's get on with it!

I use the shade Chestnut or Hot Cocoa because these two are a similar shade to my natural eyebrows and so i use these. I don't tend to do too much to my eyebrows because knowing me i'll look hidious either way haha.

But anyway back to the review of this kit, the brush is angled so it is 100% easier to use because it is fitted to help shape and add an arch to your brows. This helps so much when filling in your brows because it helps make them look like they have a natural shape even when they have been shaped and filled in.

Also in this kit, there are some tweezers, these and the brush are designed in such a cute way, i love the appearance of the whole palette to be honest. Just like any standard tweezers, these come in handy for anything but in terms of brows these have really good grip and they just look so cute in hot pink and the additional 'Tanya Burr' writing.

Lastly, the palette includes a mirror which i love because it comes in so handy, especially when travelling. This makes it so much more easier because when going away i will not need to take a mirror separately which sounds stupid but trust me its so handy!

Overall, i love this palette so much because it includes everything i need to do my eyebrows. The shades are all different shades so that they can suit anyone. Also, i love the design of the palette as it's so cute and pretty! I would definitely recommend this kit because it is a reasonable price {£6.99} and good quality!

I hope you have enjoyed reading this and has helped you out if you were considering purchasing this product from Tanya's range. If you would like to see more reviews then let us know via Twitter or comment down below.

Have a lovely day,
Love

Everyday Makeup Routine CRUELTY FREE

Hello!

Today I thought I'd share my everyday makeup routine! I use this whenever I feel like wearing makeup, so it's not really everyday but you get the jist.

Also! This whole makeup routine is cruelty free! After research online and using the website 'Peta' which allows you to search brands, I got these products! At the end I will explain a little about cruelty free makeup, not enough people take it seriously, and also link you to more articles that explain. If any of the brands in here actually do test on animals please let me know, I have looked on all of their websites but after the Revlon scandal they are all a bit iffy.

I currently do not use a primer. Yes I know, probably a really bad decision. However I haven't found one yet. If anyone can link me to any cruelty free primers I would be grateful.
For foundation I did use the Rimmel Match Perfection, as I believed the brand was cruelty free. However, part of their animal policy in fact states that some countries do require animal testing on their products. So until I find a new foundation I like I am using an MUA matte one. I hardly ever wear foundation so not having an 'amazing' one does not bother me.
For concealer I use the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection, which is cruelty free. I apply this to all my blemishes and in a triangle under my eye, and blend it simply using my finger (obviously I wash my hands before)
I set this in place with the MUA powder (MUA in my knowledge is cruelty free) which I find does make you look a little cakey if you apply too much. However it sets my face in place just fine. I use a Makeup Revolution fluffy brush to put this on!

For my blush I use the Makeup Revolution Golden Sugar pallette. Makeup Revolution is cruelty free, cheap and just of really good quality so it's a winner all round for me. Now they don't have names, so I just use the second one on the top row on the apples of my checks. I apply this with the Real Techniques Blusher Brush (cruelty free of course)
For my contour I use a Revolution contour brush, and last shade on the bottom row of that palette. This goes on the hollows on my cheekbones, on my jawline and on my forehead, basically where your face is naturally darker (watch some yotuber tutorials)
Once again for highlight on my cheekbones I use the second shade on the bottom with the contour brush. Once I've done my eyebrows I will also use the first shade of the top on my eyebrow bone and down the bridge of my nose (the cupids bow as well if I remember)

For my eyelashes I use the W7 Lashtastic False Liquid Lashes (I believe this is cruelty free, it took me a long time to find the brand online however the articles said it was). This has a very thick wand and is really good for adding more volume into the lashes, it also makes them super black!
I'm not a keen eye shadow wearer but for anyone that is Makeup Revolution do such lovely, pigmented eye show palletes which are so inexpensive and such high quality.
For my eyebrows I use the Essence eyebrow powder, cruelty free. I don't know why I keep writing cruelty free after every product that's the idea of the post, I think it's because I want to reiterate the fact that they all are. With the Real Techniques Angled Brush. There are two shades, dark and light, but depending on how I feel I like to switch it up daily. Then to blend and brush it all into place I use an old, clean mascara brush, it works wonders.

For my lips I first apply some Palmers Cocoa Butter Lipbalm in order to give my lips a bit of moisture. I then finish with the Colourpop Lippie Stix in Oh Snap Matte. It's such a lovely kind of brown toned pink, which is just so wearable. It's very creamy and doesn't make your lips feel dry like some mattes do.

Now I know not a lot of people really think about whether their makeup/products are cruelty free. They think companies test on rats or mice and their lives are worthless. However that's not the reality. Thousands of animals die every year, and if they survive they are often left in a horrible condition. Mac is one of the well known animal testers and if you read some of the stories (which I recommend, some are gruesome but they are eye opening) you will see how bad it is. Look at your pets, or just have some basic humanity and think about if you covering up a spot or putting some blue on your eyelid is worth the loss of their life.
For more information go to www.peta.org they allow you to see cruelty free brands and those that do test on animals or just search for articles about cruelty free makeup, also there is a lot of youtubers that talk about it. Kristen Leanne is one of my favourites, her videos are so informative and just amazing!

I hope you enoyed and really think about what I've said. It doesn't take long to change what you use, and sometimes it's cheaper, it's also for the better!

Love,

Elise xo

Trying Peanut Butter Candy

Hello!

Now for Christmas my parents got me a bag of peanut butter related candy, as they know how much I love it. So I thought I'd try it and right my first reactions out here!

M&Ms-

You can really taste the peanut butter in them, I actually really like them! I think if you eat too many at once they would be really sickly, as I only had one and that was a little sickly.

Cookie Dough Bites-

I really didn't like these. The inside was okay, I couldn't really taste much because the horrible taste of the chocolate on the outside overwhelmed it. The chocolate just tasted cheap, not of high quality, and it ruined the rest of the flavour for me.

Reese's Cups-

I've already had these before, and they are basically my favourite thing in the world. If I could only eat on more sweet thing for the rest of my life it would be these (or lindors).

Reese's Sticks-

These were good. Kind of just like a peanut butter chunky kit kat but with less chocolate on the outside. The peanut butter wasn't too overwhelming which was good, and the wafer inside was quite nice.

That was it! She also got me other non - peanut butter related things such as little Hersheys cookies and cream {for the record I like them, but I don't see the massive hype, still doesn't beat dairy milk} I hope you enjoyed, go find yourself some if you like peanut butter and see what the taste like. I'm sure they do candy based around other flavours too!

Lots of love,

Elise xo

Happy New Year!

Hello!

Sorry for not posting in so long but i've been designing and my new individual blog and it has been christmas break from school so i have been spending a lot of time with my family. Anyhow! I can't believe that today is the 1st January 2016. What! 2015 wasn't exactly the best of years but today is the first page of a new 365 paged book so i want to make each page last and be fulfilled.

I thought i would give you some tips on how to stay motivated, as i know that i always need to be motivated and pushed as otherwise i most likely wouldn't be doing half the things i am doing today. So, i'm going to give you some of my tips which i believe you should do more of this year as it's a chance to try new things and come out of your comfort zone.

  1. Don't let other people down! Towards the end of last year i was put down quite a lot by my supposedly 'friends' and unfortunately i did let it get to me! Don't let that happen! If they laugh at something that your doing take it as a compliment because really inside they are probably jealous of your success in the activity in which you are participating in.
  2. Be motivated. In order to keep me going i go by some quotes. I know your probably thinking 'oh, here we go, everyone says to go by quotes it doesn't work because it's cheesy' that's fine, you don't have to be motivated this way, it's just that i like to! My favourite quote is 'she believed she could so she did' whenever i feel i am not good enough or i am not capable of doing something i always try to keep motivated by reading a positive quote and it questions yourself, for me this works but it may not for you, but thats fine!
  3. Do what makes YOU happy. Don't revolve your life around other people and try to keep other people happy. If you want to do something that your friend/s might not want to, so what? If it is going to make you happy and have a good time then go for it!
  4. BE YOU. Don't change yourself to fit in with other people. If you want to wear bright orange eyeshadow then go for it and wear the bright orange eyeshadow. Don't change for someone else because your worried about what they will think of your normal self, the most someone would ask for is your normal and crazy self.
That's it for today's blogpost i hope you found this post quite helpful and useful for the new year? If it didn't then I'm sorry for rambling.

Happy New Year, i hope your 2016 is great!

What I Got For Christmas 2015

Hello!

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas (if you don't do Christmas I hope you had a generally lovely day) and got some of what you wished for!

I thought I'd share some of my presents with you, simply as ideas of what to ask for your birthday or to buy others.

I got lots of 'pamper' products, such as a home facial set and some lovely body washes. I really love the Soap and Glory box I got, not only is the box very useful the products are amazing. Along with a Nivea box with all the essentials in it, literally the box is now my case for all my makeup which I don't use everyday.
Zoella Beauty was something I got quite a few products from as well! Although I don't mind the Tutti Frutti range, the original scent is my favourite. Blisstfull Mistfull has been in my bag since I opened it as it smells heavenly.

From Real Techniques I got the blush brush and the strippling brush, which are both amazing. As well as some money to go buy myself some new makeup. Foundation, the Revolution Golden Sugar pallette and a beauty blender are top of my list!

As for entertainment, I got a few youtuber books. Binge is currently still in the car, I intend to start reading it tomorrow. However I have started the first few pages of Girl Online On Tour, and it does look good. Joe and Caspar Hit The Road was another thing I got given, I haven't watched it yet but that is on my to do list for the next few days. We are also waiting for Blue Neighbourhood by Troye Sivan to come through, as the order kind of messed up, so my family will literally be hearing that blasted everyday.

If you want a gift to give someone, I recommend  a sweet bag. Now it sounds pretty lame I know. But I like peanut butter, like really I love the taste of it. So I got given literally a bag dedicated to different peanut butter sweets and chocolate to eat. Find something they like and base it around that, I'm sure they will appreciate it. Or lindors, they are heaven.

I did get some other bits as well, such as some boots and the softest dressing gown that has ever existed hands down. However I don't want to ramble!

Really hope you love everything you got, tweet me some of your presents! I'd love to see.

Love,

Elise xo

Winter Skincare Routine

Hello!

Yes yes, I know I posted yesterday, but I'm going to do 12 days of blogmas (please don't keep me too it) I started a day late so I have to post on Christmas day, however I'm going to try and get this done.
Now I've started trying out some new products, and for the months where it's a bit colder, I think I've found the perfect products.

I remove any makeup I wear everyday with the Nivea 2 in 1 Cleanser and Toner. Now if you wear full coverage makeup this may not work amazing for you, however I only use really minimal makeup so it removes it all perfectly. It makes my skin very clean, and soft, and just gives you that fresh feeling.

Every other day I use the Nivea Gentle Exfoliating Wash, to just unclog my pours and get rid of any nasty bits. It leaves my skin feeling soft, and you can really see the difference that using it makes.

After I've used the exfoliating wash i use my Clarins moisturiser, simply because it's a little more expensive, and i feel like using it when I have a deep facial clean. Day to day I use the Witch Hazel Moisturiser which is so amazing, it smells lovely and makes your skin feel lovely. However I'm nearly at the end of that one, so I have bought a Nivea moisturiser to see how that works (bit of a Nivea fan over here)

Using water helps too. If you are wearing no makeup, and indoors all day, occasionally washing your face with water will make it so much healthier and stop dirt getting caught up.

If you have any recommendations please let me know, I want to start using more organic products so if anyone knows any good 'recipes' I would be very grateful. Thank you for reading, see you tomorrow!

Love,

Elise xo

The Girl On The Train Review

Hello!
Right, so I don't normally do book reviews, but I've just finished this book and I'm amazed, I honestly think it is the best book I've ever read.
'To everyone else in this carriage I must look normal; I'm doing exactly what they do: commuting to work, making appointments, ticking things off lists.
Just goes to show.'
The book is written by Paula Hawkins, it is her first thriller. I'd actually never heard of this book before, but my friend had it so I asked if I could give it a read. The reviews on the book were amazing;
'Gripping, enthralling- a top notch thriller and a compulsive read' - SJ Watson
'So thrilling and tense and wildly unpredictable. I simply could not put it down. Not to be missed! - Tess Gerritsen
I completely agree. The book had me captivated from beginning to end, I hated having to put it down. My opinions of different characters changed throughout the book, and the twist and turns made it so much more interesting. The book created such a clear image of the events in my head, it felt like I was there, watching it first hand.
The way it was written was beautiful, the different perspectives from characters in the book gave the book such a great pace, and made my emotions change constantly. I couldn't guess what would happen next, the book wasn't predictable at all. I never expected the ending what so ever, I thought I had it planned out at the beginning, and to realise I was wrong amazed me, it suprised me. I love the fact it wasn't boring, and paced the same throughout. It changed paced, it was unexpected, exciting. I can't think of enough adjective words to describe how much I love this book.
As soon as this comes out in cinemas I am going yo be the first one there. I genuinely believe this is the BEST book I have ever read, and I am a fairly big reader. I honestly cannot praise Paula enough for her brilliant writing style, and amazing ideas.
I obviously didn't make this book review as long as it could be, I could go on and on about different sections of the book. However, I'm trying to keep it as spoiler free as possible. And I honestly want all of you to read the book, to begin with you may not think it's your cup of tea, but I promise you it will blow your minds!
Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed (and read the book, please)
Lots of love,
Elise xo

November Favourites (and Fails!)

Hello!

Right so I normally do my favourite posts in the same style, however I thought I'd mix it up a bit (oh, exciting I know) so I'm going to add in things that didn't work for me as well. It's all fine and dandy knowing what does work, but it's always useful knowing what doesn't.

TV and Film-

To be completely honest, I haven't watched anything new this month what so ever. The only thing I love is Geordie Shore, I've watch it for ages, and although I've never mentioned it, I love it a lot!

Makeup and Skincare-

I've been loving the whole Nivea range recently, the cleanser/toner is a personal favourite, as it picks up little bits of makeup so easily! I also bought two Miss Sporty lipsticks, which are amazing! I'm going to do a review on them so stay tuned!
I'm going to add in an extra little bit, and talk about hair products. Now curling wands have been my favourite this month, I love the curly hair look. If anyone has any nice hairspray recommendations which keep you hair light, please let me know. My fail in this department is the Bed Head Texturing Gel (this might not be right, I currently cannot find it) I hated this with a passion. I added it to my hair after curling, and afterwards it was so heavy and looked extremely greasy. This was before school, and it was that bad I had to try and wash it out with water without ruining my curls.

Music-

Music this month, honestly how good has it been. Adele, no words, just amazing. Troye Sivan, my absolute babe is outstanding and I love him and his album is so good (go buy it, please, it's amazing!) Little Mix, I'm starting to stan them now, brilliant songs. It's just been outstanding!

Youtube and Blogs-

I haven't really watched anyone new thus month. However, I have my old favourites such as Eve Bennett, she's a queen I recommend. Noo Stenning, another amazing person and amazing youtuber/blogger. Christmas is near, so I've watched like 200 hundred gift guides, and DIY presents, if your stuck youtube is the best place to go, there is so much inspiration.
Fails, Sam Pepper. I can't even get into this, it annoys me so much. I don't even want to waste anymore time on him, but I'm sure you can find rants in most places, my twitter account included.

Hoping this has been short and sweet? Maybe not so much sweet? I'm doubting whether the fails part is a good idea or not, I might stick with it for a little while.

Love you lots,

Elise xo

Favourite Autumnal Lip Colours

Hello everyone, sorry i haven't posted in so long and thank you Elise for keeping this blog up and running. Firstly, if you haven't seen our previous post which Elise wrote then please go and give it a read as it is truly amazing and based on an unfortunate event that happened a couple of days ago. Anyway, today i thought i would do a beauty related blog post; my favourite autumnal lip colours. So let's just get straight into it.

I mostly like quite dark colours as they suit me best and i also think dark colours are perfect colours for autumn and winter. My first favourite lip colour is from a No 7 Lipstick in the shade Tricky 445. This colour is a red based matt colour but at the same time has a tint of brown and a neutral colour. I really like this colour as it really makes your lips stand out but not drastically. I got this product passed down from a family member as it didn't suit them and so i do not know the price but if i find out i will leave a link at the bottom.

Another favourite which is quite similar to the No 7 one is a Revlon Lipstick. This lipstick is in the shade Cherry Blossom 028. The colour is kind of a ruby red but again, doesn't stand out drastically, just makes your lips noticeable and brightens your face in a way if that makes any sense. I love the packaging of this product and the overall look and shade. Again, this got passed down from a friend and so i do not know the price however if i find out i will link it below.

MUA have very good quality products as well as really cheap prices. I love most of their products however not all of them due to the shades i need or how much each product contains. Anyway, one of my favourite products is one of their lipsticks. This lipstick is in Shade 7. The shade is a rosy colour however depending on how much you apply it can be a dark shade. I wear this product not only in autumn but i did also wear this in summer as it can become a light pink shade as well which is what i like. Another lipstick that i would like is a shade that my sister bought. She bought a dark plum red which i did wear for halloween and if you follow me on twitter would have seen a picture. I think the lipstick is in Shade 13. MUA lipsticks are only £1 each! £1 each! They are so cheap and have a really good quality and content. Also, at the bottom of the lipstick you can screw off the bottom to have a pot of the lipstick if you wanted to apply with a brush which i think is a really good idea and you really get what you pay for!

The last lip colour i like is from Revlon and it is a Revlon ColourBurst Matte Stain. Zoella mentioned these in one of her videos a few years ago and ever since i have always bought them as they ave so much content and the colours are really nice. The shade which i got was Complex 230. This is a really matt and nude shade and is really nice to use for school or college or if you want to have a light and nude make-up look. This matte balm was £7.99 and i bought it from Boots. I don't only wear this in autumn/winter i wear it on a daily basis if i am being completely honest. I mainly use this for school as i think it has a discreet look and effect and so is perfect for school as it is minimal.

That is the end to this blog post, i hope you liked it,

Please look at Elise's previous post as it is really touching: http://perksofbeingtiaelisexo.blogspot.co.uk/2015/11/our-world.html
